Vang Vieng's surrounding area is simply beautiful. The city is surrounded by stunning mountains, rice fields, jungle, and the Nam Song river flos alongside the town itself. When you take a hot air balloon ride in Vang Vieng, you get to see the city from a competely different viewpoint. High above Vang Vieng, you can take in the river, the rice paddies and the mountains like never before.

And, it's worth noting, you will be taking what is possibly the lowest priced balloon ride in the world. If you consider the average balloon ride worldwide costs up to twice as much as in Vang Vieng, flying here shouldn't be missed.

What to Expect With This Hot Air Balloon Flight?

You will be picked up from your hotel at your appointed time. Then you will head to the launch site where you will be given a pre-flight briefing. The flight and details will be explained to you to ensure you have the best experience possible.

Once the hot air balloon is inflated, you and the other passengers will board the basket, and the flight will start. You will fly over Vang Vieng town or city as it is often called, and be able to see all the sights. Looking down you will see Nam Song river and the countryside beyond. A quick scan of the skies will reward you with the sight of a few paramotors flying and hot air balloons floating lazily along.

Don't forget to bring something to take photos with. A smartphone is ideal or a small camera. There will be many photo opportunities as you float over stunning scenery.

After landing, you will disembark and be taken back to your hotel.

How Long Does the Flight Last?

Depending on weather conditions, the flight will last 30 minutes. The operators always aim for thirty minutes but if there are adverse weather conditions then the flight may be a few minutes shorter. This is for safety reasons.

Is Flying in a Hot Air Balloon Safe?

The operators of the hot air balloon are certified and licensed. And, safety is always a priority

The balloon operator is licensed and approved by the Lao Civil Aviation Authority.

We only use operators who are experienced and take safety seriously. This is the same for ziplining, kayaking, and our paramotor flights.

How Long is the Tour?

The flight itself is approximately 30 minutes as mentioned above. And, the whole event takes around 3 hours from pick up to drop off.

What Time Will the Hot Air Balloon Fly?

You have a choice of sunrise or sunset flights. The actual pick up time will be confirmed at the time of booking as it changes over the course of the year as the seasons change.
