What Does the Hot Air Balloon Ride Involve?

You will be picked up from your hotel at your designated time. Then you will head to the launch site where you will be given a pre-flight briefing. You can enjoy a hot tea or coffee while this happens - essential for that early morning sunrise flight!

Once the hot air balloon is inflated, you and the other passengers will board the basket, and the flight will commence. You will fly over the limestone mountains and stunning Vang Vieng countryside from high up, before landing.

Don't forget to bring your smartphone or camera as there will be many photo opportunities as you float over stunning scenery.

After landing, you will be taken to the Pilot's Club and enjoy a light breakfast or snack and a glass of sparkling wine. You will also be presented with your flight certificate.

How Long Will the Flight Last?

Depending on weather conditions, the flight will last 30 minutes. The operators always aim for thirty minutes but if there are adverse weather conditions then the flight may be a few minutes shorter. This is for safety reasons.

Is the Hot Air Balloon Safe?

The operators of the hot air balloon are internationally certified, and follow European Civil Aviation Standards. The equipment used is from France. And, safety is always a priority

The balloons were handmade in France. And, everything has been certified by the DGAC (Direction Générale de l’Aviation Civile) and the EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency).

Only small to medium-sized balloons are used to improve interaction while maintaining a safe and immersive experience.

We only use operators who are experienced and take safety seriously. This is the same for ziplining, kayaking, and our paramotor flights.

How Long is the Whole Tour?

As mentioned above, the flight itself is approximately 30 minutes. But, the whole event takes around 3 hours from pick up to drop off.

What Time Does the Hot Air Balloon Fly?

You have a choice of sunrise or sunset flights. The actual pick up time will be confirmed at the time of booking as it changes over the course of the year as the seasons change.
