In all cases you will receive a confirmation and receipt for your booking. For trains you will receive a QR code to be used as you check in at departure in the train station. For all other bookings you can collect a physical ticket from the Discover Vang Vieng office when you arrive in town. For certain tours your ticket may be delivered to your hotel. You will receive full information when you enquire about bookings.

No. For most tours and bus journeys only a deposit is required to secure the booking. For hot air balloons, paramotors, trains, and rock climbing, full payment is required in advance. These stipulations are laid down by the service providers and not us. In the case of deposit only bookings, the outstanding balance needs to be paid at the Discover Vang Vieng office. Full details will be provided upon any booking enquiry. If travel plans make this impossible, then full payment of any tour will be requested at the time of booking, and your ticket will be delivered to your hotel before your arrival.

At present we accept OnePay to BCEL (available to tourists through the EzyKip app which you can read about in this article about paying by card in Vang Vieng, Loca Pay), UK & European bank transfers, and BetCoBit (Bitcoin and other payment options). Soon we will be taking credit and debit card payments securely on line.

Yes, but it depends on what your booking includes, how close to the departure time you wish to cancel, and what tour it is. In some cases we require 48 hours notice to change or cancel a booking. This is because we will be charged by the service provider ourselves. In many cases such as buses we can alter dates. No tours will be refunded within 24 hours of the departure dates although we will do our best to book alternative dates where possible. Please note, in some circumstances deposits are non-refundable, as are some bookings including trains. Please read the terms for each booking before making payment. Full information for refunds and alterations will be provided to you BEFORE payment is made.

For all bus journeys and tours you will be picked up from your allocated spot. Normally this will be your hotel, although rock climbing departs from the centre of town. Because of this, we require all customers to inform us of the name of their hotel at least 24 hours ahead of departure. For train journeys, we can arrange a tuk tuk or motorbike at an extra fee to take you to the train station.

It depends on what type of tour you are going on. But, typically we recommend you take a dry bag, sunscreen, a hat, and sensible footwear for hiking and caving. Leave expensive items in your hotel safe and bring some small money for refreshments. However, you will likely want to bring your camera for certain tours such as hot air balloon rides.

It depends on what tour you are going on. For instance, kayaking will include life jackets, and often, dry bags. Full day tours will include lunch and water. Half day tours normally include water. All tours include transport to the activity. However, some kayaking tours do not include transport back. This is because the kayaking finishes on the Nam Song in town - typically close to Villa Nam Song.
